Kenneth Grahame (1859–1932) was a British author best known for The Wind in the Willows, a gentle pastoral tale of animal friends along an English riverbank. Originally written as bedtime stories for his son, the book features the unforgettable characters Mole, Rat, Badger, and the irrepressible Toad. Grahame also served as Secretary of the Bank of England while pursuing his literary career.
