Dracula
Dracula is a Gothic horror novel by Irish author Bram Stoker, first published in 1897. Though not the first work of vampire fiction, it established many of the conventions of the genre and made Count Dracula one of the most iconic figures in popular culture.
The novel is told through a series of letters, diary entries, and newspaper clippings. It follows a group of characters — led by Professor Abraham Van Helsing — as they confront the ancient vampire Count Dracula, who has traveled from his castle in Transylvania to England in search of new blood. Jonathan Harker, Mina Murray, and their allies must race to stop the Count before he spreads his curse across London.
A landmark of horror literature, Dracula has never been out of print and has inspired countless adaptations across film, theatre, and television, cementing its place as one of the most influential novels ever written.
