CBZ, CBR and CB7 files open in the comic reader, which shows the page images as they are. CBR and CB7 comics are repacked as CBZ when you import them; the pages themselves aren’t changed.
Page layout
- Mac: click the page layout button in the toolbar (⌘ ⇧ L).
- iPhone and iPad: open the reader menu and tap Layout.
Choose:
- Single Page: one page at a time.
- Two-Page Spread: two pages side by side, like an open book.
- Auto: a spread when the screen is wider than it is tall and both pages have room, for example an iPad in landscape.
Each comic opens in Auto.
Manga: right to left
Turn on Right to Left in the same menu. Pages then run from right to left, and the tap zones and arrow keys swap sides. BookShelves remembers the setting for each comic.
Turn pages
- Tap or click the left or right edge of the page.
- Swipe.
- On a Mac or an iPad with a keyboard, use the arrow keys, Page Up and Page Down, or Home and End for the first and last page.
Settings > General > Page Slider adds a slider for jumping through the comic.
Zoom
- iPhone and iPad: pinch to zoom up to 4x, or double-tap to zoom to 2x and back. While you’re zoomed in, a swipe doesn’t turn the page.
- Mac: pinch on the trackpad, or double-click to zoom to 2x and back. Drag to move around.
Zoom resets when you turn the page.
Bookmarks
Press ⌘ D or use the bookmark button in the toolbar (Mac), or the bookmark icon in the reader menu (iPhone and iPad). On iPhone and iPad, Bookmarks in the reader menu lists them.
